Promising Movies from Sundance Film Festival

There are always high expectations for the films that are invited to the Sundance Film Festival and it’s a place for several independent films to find buyers so that they can find release dates later in the year or even at the festival itself. It is always an exciting time for people who enjoy seeing independent films as all of the Oscar contenders for the prior year have already been released and so everyone’s likely already seen all of small films recently in theaters. This is why people will attend the Sundance film festival to find out what independent films are coming up next.

Unfortunately, there were not a lot of films that came out of Sundance last year that made it into theaters and were big hits. Although some of those titles ended up being popular for rentals and also as downloads on Channel 131, all of the films that actually found distribution partners really didn’t make a lot of money at the box office. This was strange given the fact that there were several famous casts put together for independent films and some talented directors behind the efforts. The independent films coming out of Sundance this year look more promising.

When a person attends the film festival, they will actually see quite a few movies and if a person stays for the entire duration of the festival, it is likely that they will see around 30 films in just a few days. It is likely that the next few months will bring a lot of information on which films at Sundance will be the most successful.
