Lens Barrel of Nikon 105mm VR Stays Constant

If you look at the Nikon 105mm VR you would agree that it is a fairly short lens. The Nikon 105mm VR is actually a rather cumbersome piece of kit. Nobody could accuse it of having sleek lines but it does do some very good work for your close ups. The lens barrel widens very fast from the mounting flange but once that first step out has been made the rest of the Nikon 105mm VR stays at a uniform width for the rest of it. The collar that you twist to get your focus is wide enough that even a big male hand like mine can get a positive grip and the ridging gives the collar a very accurate contact with the fingertips. It is easy to change the Nikon 105mm VR from auto focus to manual and this is done with three switches on the left of the lens.

This new Tamron lens covers the broadest zoom range under the ultra wide angle class from the 10mm wide to 24mm which is absolutely fantastic.

You will hear the most annoying autofocusing sound on the Tamron 17-50 lens. However, you will soon forget it because the autofocusing generally very fast and efficient. This lens is particularly great for travel and casual shooting. I found the autofocus performance to be satisfactory. The f/2.8 aperture speaks for itself and it is amazing how it contributes to your shooting options. The image quality is simply breathtaking. I had low expectation on this lens and this lens had proved me wrong. The image quality is bright, crisp and sharp as tack. It has some very lush colors as well. The most impressive was this lens’ sheer width and performance from 17 to 35mm focal length. The chromatic aberration, vignetting and barrel distortion are all hardly an issue unlike the kit lens. A tad stopped down will give terrific corner sharpness. The image quality advantage over the competition was so obvious to see.
